SPOCK!

Ok people, Time for me to dust off the old blog... I am sick and tired, and I mean SICK to my stomach! How can anyone judge Willam Shatner for not attending Lenard Nimoys funeral? Besides the fact and if we're honest that Shatner was not the most loved man on the set of the orginal star trek... Anyone that has researched Shanter and Nimoy's relationship would know that they were close and spent time together outside of work. Here are my thoughts and I dont care if you like them or not. I think Shatner, regardless of the real reason why he did not attend the funeral has the right to be a dick at this point, were any of you on the original series of star trek?! Case could be closed at this point to all haters. The point of reasoning was made that Shatner said he would be missing the Nimoy’s funeral because he was “ doing charity work” for the Red Cross. "The needs of the few outweigh the many or the one... AKA Spock, who couldnt give a dammed shit because he is dead! Unfortunately...Nobody sees the beauty in doing somthing logical on the day of the passing of the original Spock. Come on people! Stop being retarded and go back to your pining and whining and go ruin someone elses life with hate mail and judgemental critisisms over why Shatner did not attend. In my opinion I think he handeled it perfectly. But thats just a thought from me, Ruthy...on my B!tcHeN BloG BoNanZa

There are many interpretations and opinions surrounding TFP and compensated work in the modeling industry. Some of the most common debates on this subject are: Who should be the one getting compensation, The photographer ? Or the Model ?  And the deciding factors that qualify a photoshoot to be considered for TFP.

The world of freelance modeling and photography is unregulated, though guidelines set by agency's are somewhat followed as a standard. The fact is with freelance there are no rules and it is up to every individual to create their own opinions and guidelines based on industry facts, hearsay, and commonly known practices of the trade.
Please bear in mind that models, and photographers typically are hired by clients, and agency's, and that I am addressing  TFP vs Compensation between model, and photographer directly.
This article is based mostly on my own knowledge, and experience in the industry. As a locally and internationally published Model, and Mua, signed with several nonexclusive agency's, and an experienced freelancer, I ask you to interpret and form your own opinions from my article, to accept is as opinion, and ultimately debatable.

TFP A.K.A TFCD, (Time for print or Time for CD)... Is an even trade of a models, and a photographers time. The model and photographer..(unless otherwise stated in a contract or release form)...both have the right to make prints or copies of the photos for their printed or online portfolios. Also known as portfolio stacking.  Any costs involved with a TFP/ TFCD  photoshoot, are usually split between the photographer and the model . This is usually customized with every individual photo shoot, and situation.
 DECIDING FACTORS on TFP.
In any case of tfp/cd both the models, and photographers, portfolio should benefit from the trade.
Example #1:
Both model, and photographer are inexperienced.
(This will benefit both to gain experience, and begin to start their portfolios.)

Example #2: Model, and photographer, have guaranteed publication.
(A Quality tear sheet is worth ten GOOD portfolio pictures, and is guaranteed to land both the model and photographer paid work)  Note to models!...  Not all photoshoots for publications are guaranteed to get published..watch out for words being used like submitting for publishing. and on "on spec" This doesnt mean you should not do this type of work. Just know exactly what it is that your getting into.

Example #3: Model /Photographer, Support and Endorse legitimate charity's, and foundations by giving of their time, and talent in a photoshoot to raise money for a cause they believe in. ( eg: I support, and endorse breast cancer research.)

COMPENSATION: (Model wants to be paid for their time. Photographer wants to be paid for their time)
Who gets paid?  Well that depends on the factors.
The factors are nearly all the same for the model, and the photographer.

PHOTOGRAPHER / MODEL
Quality of portfolio photos (Including publications)
Experience
Reputation
Working with /for an agency
Public demand
A separate contributing factor for the model. (Model needs to have the "look" that the photographer needs for the project in order to be hired.)

Keep all of these factors in mind before hiring a model or photographer.
The goal of many photographers, and models,  is to have a portfolio that will get them noticed, and bring in more work. Preferably paid. Both models, and photographers that want to get paid need to see where they fall into every one of these factors .

Example #1: Inexperienced models just starting to build their portfolios should understand that hiring a experienced, quality, photographer is beneficial to stacking their portfolio with the types of images that will often get them work faster, and noticed by an agency as opposed to doing TFP with a photographer that is just as inexperienced.

Example #2: Photographers that are inexperienced or even novice should continue to do TFP's until they are comfortable enough behind the camera and are creating good quality images before they hire a professional model to boost their portfolio.

If a photographer will not pay to work with you, and you will not pay to work with a photographer than you need to decide if you both can agree in the value of a TFP.

If not, than don't work with them, plain and simple. But keep things Amicable, and be Professional because you never know, you may want to work with them years down the road! So dont blow it ! First impressions are everything!

(10 Reasons Why Boston Store and Affiliates need a System Makeover !!!.)

(Men, spare yourselves, and just forget about reading this blog post!)
Now I know as a model I should not "bite the hand that feeds me" but in this case as a customer, I demand CHANGE!  Not the kind that jingles in your pocket... Reform, About Face, A new coat of paint on the old barn...so to speak.

My wonderful brother buys me a gift card a couple days before Christmas, because he knew I really wanted a pair of shoes that I saw at Boston store, I open it on Christmas day, and the 10 percent off coupon that comes with the gift card is expired.  (WHATEVER)
Reason (1)

So I go in to look at the shoes and the don't have the ones I want in stock in my size 10 1/2 ( So SAD!)
Reason (2)

I am talking to the lady at the counter and she says that they only carry half sizes up to 9 1/2 ( Bummer!)
Reason(3)

Then she tells me that I can see if I can get the next size up... 11... online. Because they only get one or two pairs  of that size in each shipment to the store, and when they come in hoards of tall people are waiting to break down the doors just so they can fight over the cutest most coveted pair.  ( Ummm.... BOSTON STORE?!!....NEWS FLASH!, THERE ARE LOTS OF TALL PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.)
Reason(4)

So I go home get online and search every store that I am allowed to use the gift card with that is assosiated to Boston store trying to find my pair of shoes in a 10/12 or 11.  I find out that only one pair of shoes in the entirety of the web of stores come in my size even on the web! (WTF!!) (Now i'm pissed!)
Reason(5)

Now I just give up, on the boots, and look for other stuff online in their store, only to find out at the purchase window that they dont accept gift cards as payment online!!!!!!!!! ( I REALLY WANTED TO F**K SOMEONE UP NOW!)
Reason(6)

I go back to the store and ask to return the gift card for cash, (they said NO!)
Reason(7)

I asked if I buy something else with the gift card, and return it then can I get the cash ? (they said NO only a store credit)  I was like.... I dont want, or need, anything in your store except these shoes!  The lady at the counter felt sorry for me so she gave me a new and valid 10 percent off card.
(RUB IT IN ! WHY DONT YOU!)
Reason(8)

So I go to look for the alternate things that I would have bought if they had let me use the gift card online, and they are all out of stock in store, on everything I had picked out the day before online!  (BOSTON STORE IN MY MIND WAS NOW LIKE SHOPPING AT GOODWILL,(you find ok stuff but its not what you were planning on, and it gets old fast~!)
Reason(9)

The bathroom is to hard to find ! (when you have a 2 1/2 year old... they dont wait to long!)
Reason(10)

Change can be good ( CARS USED TO NEVER HAVE AIRBAGS, AND PHONES HAD CORDS...MEN USED TO CARRY CLUBS AND WEAR FLINTSTONE TYPE THREADS( Just checking if some guy dared to read this ;-)  ...... LOOK HOW FAR WE HAVE COME.)

MY CHRISTMAS PRAYER

To the Man upstairs...I beg of thee
For the Children near and far who's stomaches are empty
feed them this Christmas, and give them plenty.
For the family's with loved ones serving our country,
hear our prayers, and bring them home soundly.
For kittens and puppy's lost in the cold,
give them warm shelter, some milk and a bone.
For the scrooges in the world ...well i'm sure you heard the story, and know how to handle that one ;-)
Then all thats left to say is... God Bless Us Everyone !

My Bio just written for in Main Street Meats horror Film

I did a small part in Main Street Meats Horror film out of Madison WI  here is my Bio that will be featured in the special features of the film. ...:)

Hello, My name is Ruthy I am an aspiring actress and professional model, I have always loved horror movies since I was a kid, My parents would catch me sometimes way after midnight, watching my small little tv in my room, all wrapped up in blankets, and the volume down so i could just hear it, and carefully placed towel up against the small gap between the door and the floor of my bedroom so that my parents wouldn't see the flickering of the light from the tv, My eyes glued on my favorite horror film.
I really enjoyed working with Jeff Lyon for my small role in Main Street Meats, and a pleasure to work with Neddy the killer AKA, Don Markus, to talk theater with him and pick his brain about his experience and dedication to the arts. I hope to be much more involved in film and the big screen in the near future.
